JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager - IT
REPORTING TO: Head of Technology / CEO
Introduction
This is an interesting role as Assistant Manager in a cuttingedge technology and software environment.
The person in this role will join the senior management team of a UK owned (and expatriate managed) business with almost 800+ employees in Chennai. They will oversee project delivery and teams of developers working across a very diverse range of technologies, clients and projects.
Job description
This position is part project management, part technology operations and part general management. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and integrate cross-functional IT projects that are significant in scope and impact.
The core elements of the job are about organising people and time resources and seeing the project through from inception to completion on a macro level. Make sure the core functions of the team are carried out successfully and projects are reported to the top management on a timely manner.
Work activities & responsibility
Assist project manager to scope project requirements
Guiding and performing strategic analysis for the project
Interpreting the needs of the client and be a bridge between the development team and the client.
In depth software technical knowledge to educate clients on technically non-achievable tasks
Conduct calls and discussions between the software development team and the client
Authorizing development project plans, goals, and budgets; identifying resources needed
Involve in discussions with key stake holders from the client
Involve in daily standup and scrum calls on critical projects
Have timely meetings with project managers in various phases of the project to ensure on-time completion;
Ensure budget is available for the projects
Desired Candidate Profile
Proven work experience in managing software development projects
Excellent client facing and internal communication skills
Proven track record of leading teams and delivering quality software solutions
Credible and extensive ability to motivate teams and individuals
Good communication (Verbal & Email)
Excellent judgement for escalation scenarios
Excellent Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are compulsory
