1- Must Have Diploma in Dialysis Technology / Certificate course in Dialysis Therapy.
2- Good Communication Skills.
3- To prepare the dialysers, for re-use of patients dialysed during the shift.
4- To check starting dialysis charts / previous dialysis sheets thoroughly for special instructions.
5- Technicians of the particular shift should prime the dialysers of patients coming during next shifts.
6- To check any blood samples to be taken, fill up forms and label containers.
7- To arrange for blood in case of transfusion advise.
8- To ensure heparinisation as per the instructions. Maintenance dose to be given at appropriate time.
9- To plan weight loss according to pre-weight / ideal weight and blood pressure.
10- To check history of bleeding or recent procedures before heparinisation. If above history is positive and if there is pericarditis to alter heparinisation schedule accordingly.
11- To record the time of occurrence, treatment given and the response at the time of complication noticed.
12- To record summary of observations of stating and cleaning,
13- To ensure cleaning of water tank and changing of water filter.
14- To keep dialysis unit clean and machines are cleaned regularly.
15- To ensure disinfection of machines everyday as the dialysis procedure ends.
