Today’s increasingly complex patient care environment demands patient information that is timely, comprehensive and accurate. Since 2001, we have been dedicated to developing and deploying advanced health information technology (IT) products that help reduce the opportunity for errors, improve care and maximize efficiency so clinicians can focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
Designing point-of-care solutions to improve safety
From the beginning, Care Fusion worked closely with hospital-based clinicians to design point-of-care solutions that would help create a safer care environment.
Today, our modular array of interoperable, enterprise-level software applications unlocks the power of barcode scanning to positively identify patients and ensure the accuracy of medication administration, specimen collection and labeling, blood transfusions, patient charting and viewing, and charge capture.
This enterprise suite of barcode-enabled positive patient identification (PPID) products currently includes six proven software products, all accessible from one highly portable handheld or laptop device. These wireless clinical solutions include: CareMed to support medication administration, allergy warnings, safety alerts and complex IVs; CareCollect to verify and label lab specimens; BloodCare to verify blood products prior to transfusion; CareAssist to record vital signs and patient care information; and CareCapture to facilitate supply charge capture at the point of care.
Currently in development: Three important new wireless PPID products scheduled to be introduced in early 2007.
’Power of One’ suite makes Care Fusion
hospitals' core
PPID vendor of choice
This uniquely modular “Power of One” product suite offers customers the advantage of letting one vendor solve all their PPID needs. With Care Fusion as their core PPID vendor, hospitals can deploy many powerful safety solutions on one compact multi-functional hardware device—solutions that are popular with customers for many reasons. One key factor is that our functionality is focused on improving patient care, and our software design focused on pleasing caregivers.
We continually seek customer input to help us create the most innovative, cost-effective, performance-based point-of-care solutions possible—and continually update and enhance these solutions to make sure we meet the needs of busy, safety-conscious clinicians.
Advanced functionality, speed, reliability and security
Simply stated, our products are unsurpassed in terms of clinical functionality, speed, reliability and security. Experienced clinical specialists work side-by-side with a technical team of seasoned enterprise architects and wireless specialists to provide a solid foundation for our robust product line, the most advanced wireless health IT suite on the market today.
Headquartered in northern Virginia just outside Washington, D.C., Care Fusion is distinguished by a team of professionals committed to making healthcare safer and more efficient. Many of us bring extensive clinical and other hospital experience to inform our work here and at customer sites.
No wonder our many customers—who vary in shape and size from small community hospitals to large teaching hospitals and multi-facility systems as different as Saint Thomas Health Services and the Veterans Health Administration—consider us more a partner in safety than a traditional vendor.
